KARACHI, July 26: The body of a three-year-old boy who had been missing for the past two days was recovered from an open manhole in New Karachi on Friday morning.
The police said that Sameer had been missing since Wednesday, July 24, after he left his home in sector 5-F in New Karachi. The boy’s father, Iqbal, a labourer, lodged an FIR at New Karachi police station on Thursday.
On Friday morning, family members found Sameer’s body floating inside an open manhole near their home.
The police said that the boy might have fallen into the gutter and drowned.
The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem. After autopsy the body was handed over to the family.
ROAD ACCIDENT: An 11-year-old boy died in a road accident in Landhi on Friday.
The police said that Sultan, aged 11, was run over by a speeding bus (LK-2659) near Future Mor in Landhi. He was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
The bus driver escaped after the accident. The police, however, claimed to have impounded the bus.
SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead in Korangi on late Thursday night.
The police said that Kabir Ahmed, aged 41, was standing near a milk shop in sector 85 in Korangi when three armed men, riding on a motorcycle, came there and sprayed him with bullets. Kabir, a labourer, was resident of sector 85 in Korangi.
