PESHAWAR, July 26: A bereaved mother has appealed to the NWFP governor to order the arrest of the killer of her innocent daughter.
Addressing a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Friday, Nasreen, wife of Israr, alleged that her 13-year-old daughter, Nazish, was kidnapped by a Wapda employee, Mohammad Hussain, two months ago. The police, she deplored, arrested his accomplice, Jehan Ara, but the real culprit was still at large.
Grief-stricken Nasreen further alleged that the kidnapper, rapped her daughter continuously and later killed her.
The police, she said, recovered her body from the nearby hills in Rustam village, Mardan district, 15 days back. She lamented that she was running from post to pillar to get an FIR registered against the brutal murder of her daughter but the police, she claimed, was “hand in glove with the culprit” and was reluctant to register the case.
“My husband Israr is suffering from tuberculosis and cannot do any work. I am working in various houses to pay for the treatment of my husband and earn livelihoods for my five children,” said Ms Nasreen with tears trickling down her cheeks.
She said the killer of her daughter was roaming freely and was threatening her of dire consequences against pressing the issue.
The Bana Mari police, she alleged, had taken bribe from the killer and was, therefore, helpless to nab him.
She said she was not able to give bribe to police and get the FIR registered and asked the NWFP Governor, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, to intervene in the case and provide her with justice.
