Ravi Club trounce Youngsters

LAHORE, July 25: A fine hat trick by inside-left Waheed Mirza helped Ravi Club thrash Youngsters Club 9-1 as two matches were decided in the Lahore District hockey championship at the National Hockey Stadium (NHS) Wednesday. Waheed scored four goals completing his hat trick by scoring goals in the 11th, 19th and 23rd minute.

He struck his fourth goal in the 46th minute. Mirza Atiq added two goals one each in the 10th and 33rd minute. Zahid Rafiq (53rd), Iftikhar Ahmad (52nd) and Rana Zafar (35th minute) added one goal each. For the losers, Mohammad Ijaz scored the solitary goal in the 7th minute.

In another match, Ittehad Club thrashed Islamia College, Old Boys Club 5-1.

For the winning side, Zahid (21st, 49th) and Ihsan (41st, 47th) scored two goals each. Nadeem chipped in with one goal. For the losing team, Hasan Raza scored the consolation goal in the 58th minute.
