Textile exports discussed

KARACHI, July 25: A high-level meeting on Thursday discussed the strategy to increase country’s textile exports by enhancing coordination between Textile Quota Management office (TQM) and Quota Supervisory Committee (QSC).

Chairman Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Tariq Ikram chaired the meeting which was attended by Textile Commissioner Mohammad Idrees, Director General TQM Tariq Puri, chairman QSC Aziz Memon and member Razzak Teli.

The objective of the meeting was to synergies the efforts being made by two organizations for enhancing the exports and to have a better coordination between the two departments to formulate a Textile Policy for future guidance.

The meeting identified the weaknesses in textile exports and outlined the strategy for overcoming these weaknesses and increasing the share of Pakistan textile export in the international markets.—APP
