GILGIT, July 23: The government has decided to set up two hospitals with modern facilities in Hunza.

A hospital with the capacity of 70 beds would be established at Aliabad and another with 10 beds would be set up at Gulmit Northern Areas Health Secretary Saeed Ahmed Khan told Dawn on Tuesday. He said the land for the hospitals had been acquired.

He said 147 officials would be recruited to run the hospitals and their establishment would reduce burden on the district headquarters hospital.

Replying to a query, Saeed Khan said the officials of the department had seized spurious drugs from medical stores here and destroyed them.
