ISLAMABAD, July 21: A senior official of the Central Board of Revenue (CBR), who was critically injured in a road accident in H-8 sector on Saturday, died in hospital on Sunday, police said.

Hafeezullah was injured after being hit by a car (IDL-1630) while crossing a road in H-8 sector. He was shifted to the hospital where he died. The driver has still not been arrested.

Meanwhile, the president of the People’s Student Federation Rawalpindi, Zeeshan Mehdi, who was picked up by the police on Saturday on charges of inciting people against the government during the ARD’s workers convention, was sent to Adiala jail on Sunday.

The police produced Zeeshan before the court of civil judge, Rai Mohammad Nawaz, on Sunday by the police, seeking his physical remand. But, the court rejected the police plea and sent him to jail.

Earlier, the PYO president, Raja Imtiaz Abbasi, was arrested by the police on the same charges on Thursday.
