RAWALPINDI, July 21: Mutahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has started preparations to make its July 25 Ulema and Workers Convention in Rawalpindi a success, a party spokesman told Dawn on Sunday.
A special meeting to this effect was held at the Jamaat- i-Islami’s local headquarters at Al-Ikram building to review the arrangements. The local vice-president of Majlis-i-Amal, Mohammad Abbas Butt, presided over the meeting.
It was decided that special meetings would be arranged with Ulema in particular and people in general. Pamphlets inscribed with specific slogans will be distributed among the people at religious seminaries, mosques, homes and public-private offices. This is to inform the public about the MMA agenda and the actual situation prevailing in the country, the meeting was told.
Others who attended the meeting included Maulana Abdul Jalil, Maulana Abdul majeed Hazarvi, Dr Mohammad Kamal, Talib Hussain Qureshi, Malik Mohammad Azam, Ch. Mohammad Younas, Mohammad Ahsan Farooqi, Mohammad Irshad, Hakim Khalil, Maulana Mehboobur Rehman Qureshi and others activists of Majlis-i-Amal.
