KARACHI, July 21: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro would contest the general election from his native area Jacobabad.

Sindh Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Sardar Muqeem Khan Khoso, who is also the chairman of the Sindh Inquilabi Mahaz (SIM), disclosed this during a press conference at Karachi Press Club on Sunday.

Mr Khoso did not say whether Mr Soomro would contest election independently or from the platform of any political party, but he made it clear that he would never prefer the Pakistan People’s Party.

He said Mr Soomro would contest for both National and Sindh assemblies and expressed confidence that he would be victorious.

Asked about Elahi Bakhsh Soomro’s programme to contest election from Jacobabad, he said “I believe he will not contest from that seat.”

He offered unconditional support of the SIM to Mr Soomro.

At the press conference, a former MNA and minority leader, Monika Kamran Dost, announced her joining the SIM and reposed full confidence in the leadership of Muqeem Khan Khoso.

Mr Khoso said his party was open to all, except the turncoats, ie, those who were in the habit of changing their loyalties. — PPI
