KARACHI, July 21: Thirteen vehicles — five cars and eight motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Sunday, the police said.

No 1.
Two motorcycles were hijacked and six others stolen in Korangi, Kharadar, Joharabad, Azizabad, North Nazimabad, and Shareefabad.
The police also claimed on Sunday to have recovered five stolen cars (V-7907, ADW-627, KB-0373, E-5891, and KH-9372) and three motorcycles (LHY- 3860, KCI-1868, and KAL-1917).
SHOT DEAD: A man shot his wife and his brother to death in his Shireen Jinnah Colony house on early Sunday morning.
The police said that Latif Khan had a domestic dispute with his brother Mohammed Ameen, aged 45, over some petty matter. They often had arguments and Latif’s wife Shamim Akhtar, aged 35, sided with her brother-in-law. On Sunday morning, Latif and Ameen had arguments and Shamim tried to pacify them. Latif flew in a rage, fetched a pistol and fired on his brother Ameen who died on the spot.
Latif also pumped bullets into the body of his wife for taking sides with her brother-in-law. Latif fled the scene leaving his wife and brother in a pool of blood, the police said quoting close relations of the victims living in the neighbourhood.
The police said that Latif might have killed his wife on suspicion of infidelity as she sided with her brother-in-law.
Hearing the sound of gunshots, neighbours woke up and informed the police of the incident. The police sent the bodies to a hospital for post-mortem.
An activist of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement was shot dead near his Garden residence on late Saturday night.
The police said that Mohammed Jameel, aged 35, was sitting near his residence on 11th Street, Dhobi Ghat, late at night when three unidentified armed men, riding on a motorcycle, came there, sprayed Jameel with bullets, and sped away.
Jameel, an employee of the City District Government Karachi and father of four, was rushed to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, the police said.
KNIFED TO DEATH: An industrialist was knifed to death on Sunday allegedly by his servant in his house in KDA Scheme No 1, in the police limits of Tipu Sultan.
The police said that Arif Ali Rasheed, aged 50, who owned a factory, lived in a bungalow in KDA Scheme No 1, where his servant, Abdullah, aged 18, knifed him to death. Arif died on the spot.
The police sent the body to a hospital for post-mortem. Arif’s body was handed over to his brother Feroz Rasheed after post-mortem who got a case registered at Tipu Sultan police station.
The police arrested Abdullah and recovered the weapon of offence. Abdullah told the police that Arif’s wife and children went to Iran on Saturday and Arif was scheduled to leave for Iran on Sunday evening. Between the night of Saturday and Sunday, Arif called him into his room and tried to sodomize him. He fetched a kitchen knife and killed his employer, Abdullah told the police.
