HYDERABAD, July 19: The On-line Information Service (OIS), established last month by the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, has received more than 100 applications from students seeking information about admissions and examinations.

A spokesman for the university said here on Friday that the in-charge of OIS, with the help of the controller of examinations, semester/annual and the director admissions responded to the inquiries and provided solution to the problems presented by the on-line applicants.

Most of the inquiries related to the examinations and their schedule, qualification documents and announcement of results.

MARKS CERTIFICATES: The controller of examination (annual), University of Sindh, has announced here on Friday that the marks certificates of the candidates who appeared in the annual examinations 2001 from government degree colleges, affiliated to the University of Sindh, in part I and II of B.Sc, B.Com, BSW, BA and MA, have been dispatched to the concerned colleges.

ADMISSIONS: The director admissions, University of Sindh, has notified that admission forms for BHP.Ed and MHP.Ed classes for the academic year 2002-03 will be made available at Habib Bank, Old Campus Hyderabad and Jamshoro branches, from July 20.

The last date for submission of the admission forms with required documents has been fixed as Aug 6.

RESULTS: The Controller of Examination, University of Sindh, has announced the results of MBA (previous), semester examination 2001.

Thirtyfive candidates have been declared successful while results of five candidates have been withheld.

LUMHS: The additional controller of examinations, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, has announced MCQ theory programme of first professional MBBS (part-I) biannual examination 2002 which is scheduled to be held from July 29, at the LUMHS, the Chandka Medical College, Larkana, and the Peoples Medical College for Girls, Nawabshah.

According to the schedule, paper of Anatomy will be held on July 29 from 11am to 1pm, Physiology on July 30 from 11am to 1pm and Biochemistry on July 7 from 11am to 12 noon.

MOSQUE: The foundation stone of the Mehran Mosque, in the premises of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, was laid by noted scholar Hafiz Abdul Aziz Qureshi at a simple but impressive ceremony on Thursday. Mr Qureshi delivered a lecture on Islamic values, worship, prayers, and the study of the Holy Quran.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor of the university, Dr Abdur Rehman Memon, said Islam is a complete code of life and the solution to every problem faced by the human race is available in the Holy Quran.
