KARACHI, July 19: The doctors who appeared in the post-graduate examination of the College of Physician & Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) are faced with an unprecedented situation after the results have been changed by the CPSP, declaring a number of failed candidates as passed.
The result was announced on July 16 and it remained at the CPSP notice board till about 10 am, declaring 25 candidates out of 60 as passed. The same result was also available at CPSP website till about 12 noon. About 12:30 pm, the original result was replaced with a revised version that declared 30 candidates passed as against the 25 earlier.
According to the available figures, out of the overall 60 candidates, 15 belong to the Karachi centre and the rest 45 from other centres of Pakistan including Saudi Arabia. As per figures 13 out of 15 from Karachi and 12 out of 45 from other centres were declared passed in the original result.
It is interesting to note that the revised result declared 6 candidates as failed from the Karachi centre and 11 from other centres were passed. The authorities, however, termed it a computer error.
The affected doctors have urged the high-ups of the ministry of health and the PMDC to probe the matter and do justice to them.—PPI
