KARACHI, July 16: A man was stabbed to death, allegedly by his brother, wife, and brother-in-law, at his Saeedabad home in the wee hours on Tuesday.

The family alleged that the victim, Safdar Hussain, 35, used to forced his wife Tahira, 34, to meet his friends, who visited Safdar’s home. Tahira complained of this to her husband’s father and brothers who tried to keep him from doing so. However, Safdar did not give up the habit which enraged his brother Ghulam Akbar who, along with Tahira and her brother Mohammad Akram, killed him.

According to police investigation, Ladli Begum, wife of Ghulam Akbar, had accused her husband of having developed illicit relations with Tahira, wife of Safdar. The matter was discussed within the family and it was decided that Tahira and Ghulam Akbar would not talk to each other. Police said that Safdar was also interested in Tahira’s teenage daughter from her first husband, and she had often told her husband to keep away from his stepdaughter.

Tahira had informed her brother Mohammad Akram about the situation. On Tuesday around 2:30am, Ghulam Akbar, Tahira and Akram exchanged hot words with Safdar Hussain. They turned violent and killed him with a kitchen knife, screw driver and a hammer.

The police were informed in the morning around 6 am and the body was shifted to a hospital around 11am for the postmortem examination. Later it was handed over to the victim’s father Khadim Hussain for burial. The police have arrested Ghulam Akbar, Mohammad Akram and Tahira and recovered the murder tools.

TWO DIE: Two men died on Tuesday after consuming liquor in Hijral Colony.

The police said that the two bodies were found at the corner of a street in Hijral Colony. They were shifted to a hospital for autopsy. The postmortem examination report said their blood contained liquor and poison which suggested they had consumed poisonous liquor. They were identified as Shehzad, 30, and Aziz, 18.

ACCIDENT: A man died after he was hit by a train near the Karachi City Railway Station on Tuesday.

The police said the man was crossing the railway tracks when he met the fatal accident. The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy where his identity could not be established immediately.
