KARACHI: Youth commits suicide

KARACHI, July 16: A youth hanged himself at her sister’s home in Korangi on Tuesday.

The police said Faquir Mohammad, with his wife and children, had gone somewhere, leaving his brother-in-law Mehmood Fazal, 22, at home to look after it. When the family returned home after a day, they found Mehmood hanging with a ceiling fan. The police were informed and the body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy. The cause of the suicide could not be ascertained immediately.

In another incident, a mother of five ended her life by consuming a heavy dose of pesticide on Tuesday in New Karachi. The Police said Najma, 35, had five children. She had a dispute over some domestic matter with her husband. She got frustrated and in utter depression she consumed a heavy dose of pesticide. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her body was later handed over to her family for burial.
