LAHORE, July 12: Teachers currently engaged in answer-sheets marking at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Friday observed token boycott as a protest against government’s denationalization policy.
Meanwhile, activists of Islami Jamiat Talaba, Islamia College Civil Lines on Friday staged a protest demonstration in front of the SSP office to register their protest against denationalization of colleges and police baton-charge on teachers.
The students blocked the Civil Lines Road and burnt tyres.
Speaking to participants, College’s IJT Nazim Kamran Rafi said the students would fight against forces working against the interests of teachers and educational institutions. He said the government wanted to make education inaccessible for students from middle and poor classes.— Reporter
