PESHAWAR, July 12: The city police have foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of petrol to various parts of the country, and arrested the driver of an oil tanker.
The police said a mobile squad of Chamkani police station stopped an oil tanker on Grand Trunk Road near Tarnab Farm and recovered 40,000 litre petrol.
The petrol was smuggled from Afghanistan, the police said, and added that the value of the petrol was about Rs1.34 million in the country.—Bureau
