VEHARI, July 12: As many as 15 schools for boys and girls will be denationalized in Vehari under the Punjab government plan.
Dawn learnt on Friday, some 10 high schools, including two for girls, two middle and three primary schools would be denationalized.
The institutions include Islamia High School, Vehari, Government High School, Garahmore, BTM high schools (boys and girls), Burewala, Government High School, Dakota, (Mailsi), Government High School, Gago Mandi, Mohammadia High School, Chak 62/WB, Arabia-Islamia Middle School, Burewala, Government Primary School, Masjid Ghauswali and Government Primary School, Masjid Baghwali, Vehari.
At least 500 teachers, 100 clerks and scores of low-paid employees are visualizing uncertain fate after denationalization.
Most of them have reportedly been trying to get themselves transferred to the schools having vacancies.
Meanwhile, teachers of these schools have threatened to go on a strike, if the Punjab government did not withdraw its decision.
