SARGODHA, July 12: The proposed venue of ARD’s public meeting on July 16 has been declared a security risk amid ‘inter-party tension’.

Dawn learnt on Friday various government agencies had reported to their respective heads that Sharbat Chowk was a potential spot for clash.

Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League (N) workers had reportedly developed differences over collecting funds for the meeting.

Analysts term the alliance ‘unnatural’ and believe leaders of both the parties have not accepted each other. They claim both the parties are optimistic about victory in the general election through solo flight.

An insider told Dawn that the PPP and PML(N) leaders and workers had decided they would spend self-collected amount on their parties’ strategies.

Scuffles among workers of each party reportedly took place a couple of days back. Chaudhry Hameed group and Muhammad Asiam Katchela group of the PML(N) blamed each other at the press conference on July 11.
