Refugees warned

Published October 8, 2001

QUETTA: Oct 7: The Balochistan government, in a strongly worded statement, has warned the Afghan refugees to desist from participating in demonstrations and political rallies following the US air strikes on Afghanistan.

An official statement said that the refugees, old or new, found participating in political rallies or similar activities would be arrested, punished and finally deported to their country.

The statement took a serious exception to the report that some Afghan nationals, mainly refugees, were participating in the processions in the provincial capital and other areas, which was unlawful and amounted to misusing the hospitality of the government and people of Pakistan.
