Award for Shaukat

KARACHI, July 9: Ten leading trade associations have decided to give Shaukat Aziz the best finance minister award for which a ceremony would be held in August this year.

A decision to this effect was taken at a dinner hosted by Latif Ibrahim Jamal, the founder president of FPCCI, last week which was also attended by Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz.

The performance of the finance minister towards bringing stability in the economy particularly boosting the level of foreign exchange reserves to $6.3 billion, bringing down the rupee/dollar parity, narrowing trade deficit and improving balance of payment position.

The associations which would participate in this ceremony include Pakistan Commodity Traders Association, Importer Association, Kiryana Merchants Association, Petel-leave Association, Hardware Association, Pakistan Dates Exporters Association, etc.
