ISLAMABAD, July 9: The world market of internet subscribers has reached 400 million mark and is showing a growth rate of 100 per cent.
The number of internet subscribers in Asia-Pacific region comprising mostly of developing countries has also reached up to 4m and is increasing day by day.
This was revealed in a book titled “Secret of Electronic Commerce (a guide for small and medium-sized exporters)”, launched by Minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, recently.
According to the book review, electronic commerce in Pakistan is growing at a rapid pace, which has forced the government to take a number of e-commerce development initiatives.
The International Trade Centre in collaboration with Smeda has addressed this problem by launching a comprehensive publication, highlighting issues concerning electronic commerce.
The book, which has already been launched in 32 countries, is a part of the ‘Trade Secrets’ series launched by the ITC.
