KARACHI, July 8: The critical scrutiny of Tin Hatti bridge, damaged by a fire in the dumps of garbage and waste material under it recently, is under way.

In the first phase, the affected concrete and steel parts are being checked. It will require two weeks after which the repair of the bridge will be completed within four weeks.

This information was given to the city’s Naib Nazim, Tariq Hasan, during a visit to the bridge on Monday.

The Naib Nazim directed the Liaquatabad Town police to carry out patrolling under Tin Hatti bridge as well so as to check the activities of encroacher’s mafia and other suspicious elements.

Tariq Hasan asked the officials to ensure quality in carrying out the repair work.

He said Tin Hatti’s was a very busy bridge whose partial closure had put the people to inconvenience. He said the repair of the affected parts of the structure be expeditiously completed.—APP
