MUZAFFARABAD, July 7: Two persons were killed and seven injured in three road accidents in Azad Kashmir on Sunday, police said.

According to details, a Pajero jeep with Karachi number plate, plunged into a ravine near Dhirkot in the southern Bagh District, killing its driver Mehmood Shah on the spot and injured four others — Rizwan Butt, Shoukat Butt of Rawalpindi, and Abdul Khaliq and Ghazanfar of Dhirkot.

In Kotli District, a pick-up skidded off the road near the Khuiratta village, and one of its passengers identified as Zahoor, son of Sadiq, died.

Police arrested the pick-up driver, Javed, for his alleged negligence that, they said, had caused the accident.

Three other people — Mohammad Akram, Farooq Abbasi and Arshad Karim (driver) — were injured in Khun Bandway on Jhelum valley road in Muzaffarabad District, when their vehicle skidded off the road. They were admitted in CMH, Muzaffarabad.
