LONDON, July 5: Sandrine Testud, eliminated from the Wimbledon women’s singles by French compatriot Mary Pierce in the second round last week, has decided to call an end to her career.
“My life as a tennis player is finished, quite finished,” the world number ten was quoted as saying on Friday.
“I won’t come back to the circuit after the birth,” Testud, who discovered while she was playing in Birmingham a month ago that she was pregnant, told the French sports daily L’Equipe.—Reuters
