KARACHI, June 29: The City District Government Karachi made a 100 per cent utilisation of funds for development projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP).

This was stated in a meeting held here on Friday under the chairmanship of DCO Shafiqur Rehman Paracha.

This meeting is held every week on the directive of Sindh government and Nazim Karachi to review the progress of projects under the ADP.

It was the last meeting of fiscal 2001-2002 which was attended by heads of city government departments.

Speaking on the occasion, the DCO Karachi said that 100 per cent utilisation of ADP funds could become possible because of the guidance provided and persistent interest of the governor.

He said because of continuous monitoring and directives by the chief secretary and the planning department, various departments of the city government worked in an efficient manner.

The meeting was informed that under the ADP, an allocation of Rs398.383 million was made for education, health, rural water supply, traffic improvement and other sectors.

Of this total allocation, the highest allocation of Rs 243.76 million was made for education. It was followed by an allocation of Rs 26.751 for health, Rs 50 million for PP&H (Shah Faisal Flyover), Rs 9.69 million for KMC (Rashid Minhas Road) and Rs 17.690 million for 11 Rural Water Supply Schemes.—APP
