LAHORE, June 29: A meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) central council is to be held here on Sunday (today) to discuss matters concerning the merger of various PML factions.

Pir Pagara, who will preside over the meeting, arrived here on Saturday.

Leaders from some other factions have also been invited to the meeting as ‘observers.’ It is said that the PML (Nawaz) will be represented at the meeting. Sources said some speakers might point out the elements obstructing the merger and their motives.

Pir Pagara is due to meet President Gen Pervez Musharraf on July 2.
