KARACHI: Hepatitis-B vaccination

KARACHI, June 29: Provincial health minister Ahsan Ahmed inaugurated a social action programme for Hepatitis-B vaccination at a ceremony under the Habib Bank Officers’ Federation here on Saturday.

The ceremony was organized in cooperation with the Army Welfare Trust and attended by Brig Javed Tipu, M.A. Saeed, president HBL Officers Welfare Association and others.

Brig Javed said that according to the WHO in areas where Hepatitis-B had a carrier rate of 4 per cent, the people must get vaccinated. He pointed out that in Pakistan the carrier rate was 10 per cent and even 27 per cent in some districts and, as such, it was essential for all the people to get themselves vaccinated against the disease.—APP
