KARACHI, June 28: People have resented almost 100 per cent increase in the rate of charged parking in the city — from Rs5 to Rs10 and that too without any intimation.

A resident of Clifton told newsmen that the receipt he was issued for parking his car in the vicinity of Schon Circle had no mention of the City District Government Karachi.

He said there were some five to six branches of the banks in the area besides a number of stores that are visited by a number of people daily.

It was also not known whether the person collecting the fee for charged parking was authorised to do so or not.

Similarly, it was also asked, it is not known where the amount that is thus collected is spent.

“ What we get in return”, he asked and also observed that neither the roads are in good shape nor there is any arrangement for the safety of the vehicles.—APP
