VEHARI, June 26: Local additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday awarded life-term to two persons in a murder case.
Convicts Mumtaz and Zafar Iqbal will have to pay a fine of Rs50,000 each or, alternatively, six-month jail.
The court acquitted their three accomplices Shaukat Ali, Rahmat Ali and Hanifan bibi on the benefit of the doubt. Their another accomplice Anwar Ali had already died.
The prosecution said the convicts killed ex-MPA Chaudhry Nazar Muhammad Dugal’s driver Muhammad Ramzan in 1996 over suspicion of his character.
