ISLAMABAD, June 20: The Election Commission on Thursday directed all the assistant election commissioners that copies of the electoral rolls lying with them be made available for public inspection.

The EC ordered that if any person desired to obtain a photocopy of any part of the electoral rolls, the same be provided to him.

The orders follow complaints that in some of the districts the voter lists were not available for filing objections against the registration of non-Muslims as Muslim voters.

At present, the EC said, the electoral rolls were under print and would be finally published by Aug 5.

Besides, the EC has advised all the concerned that in case of any difficulty in getting the copies of the electoral rolls the provincial election commissioners or the secretary of the election commission in Islamabad may be contacted for redressal of grievances.
