TOBA TEK SINGH, June 20: Two youths were shot dead on Thursday on suspicion at Chak 224-GB near Gojra.
Muhammad Idrees allegedly had relations with the sister of Tariq Nazir of the same village. On Thursday, Idrees was sitting with his unidentified friend when Nazir came there and opened fire on them, killing both of them instantly.
Gojra Saddar police have registered a case.
SHOT AT, HURT: Unidentified dacoits late Wednesday night shot at and wounded critically a petrol pump owner on resistance on the Pirmahal-Bhussi Road.
Armed dacoits held Mujahid Hussain and asked him to hand over keys of the cash box. On his refusal, the outlaws fired at him and escaped. He sustained wounds and was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition.
RECRUITMENT: The district government has been allowed to recruit on a five-year contract 930 school teachers in the Toba Tek Singh district.
This was stated by district Nazim at a meeting held here on Thursday.
He said that 478 male and 452 female teachers would be appointed while the applications would be received up to July 2.
