KARACHI, June 20: Registrar, Karachi University, Dr Aqil Burney, has once again issued show-cause notices to leaders of Employees Welfare Associations, for their alleged strike, demonstration and protest against the vice-chancellor.

In a show-cause notice faxed to newspapers and news agencies on Thursday, the KU registrar stated that some nine employees of the varsity incited workers of the gardening department to observe strike and later led a procession of KU workers towards the administration building and chanted slogans against the KU VC.

In this regard, employees who were issued the notices expressed their ignorance at these charges, although the KU claims to have evidence against them and their alleged activities.

Those who were issued show-cause notices include M. Arif, Tajuddin, Jalees Ahmed, Ghulam Murtaza Gabol, Salamuddin, Aminuddin, Waqar Ali, Muhammad Zahid and Muhammad Bashir.—PPI
