QUETTA, June 19: Police have registered cases against the acting president of Balochistan National Party (BNP) and its three other leaders for making speeches against the provincial government.

Official sources said here on Wednesday that on June 16 the leaders of BNP (Mengal Group) made objectionable speeches against the army and government.

Other leaders against whom cases were registered included Sana Baloch, former MNA; Amanullah Baloch, central chairman of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) and Manzoor Baloch, provincial president of the BSO.

They, the sources alleged, had addressed a public meeting at the Science College protesting the murder of tribal elder and leader of BNP, Mir Mohammad Aslam Gichki, and flayed the federal and provincial governments. They had also given June 30 as deadline for the arrest of accused nominated in the FIR.

Action would be taken soon against these leaders, the sources added.
