ISLAMABAD, June 19: A three-member committee constituted for reunification of different factions of the Pakistan Muslim League has been dissolved as all hopes to reunify the party have been dashed, a source said.
The committee, which comprised Gohar Ayub Khan of the PML (QA), Asif Ahmed Ali of the PML (J) and Rana Ashraf of the Functional League, was dissolved following reports that the Functional League had decided to join hands with the PML (N).
The failures of the moves aimed at bringing together different factions of the PML are significant for political observers as they claim that these moves had been initiated with covert official prodding.
