Anti-polio drive

GILGIT, Oct 7: Anti-polio campaign launched in Northern Areas has been described as successful by the Health Department officials who said 172,519 children of five and under five years of age were administered polio drops by various teams constituted for the purpose.

The anti-polio campaign was carried out by 586 mobile and 103 fixed teams who provided door-to-door services.

The Chief Secretary of Northern Areas, Fazal Durrani, had launched the campaign while administering polio drops to the children at Raheemabad.

The social circles have expressed gratitude over the campaign which has brought positive results against the diseases.—APP
