HARIPUR, June 18: Even after a lapse of one month the police have failed to arrest the suspects involved in the killing of Naseema Jan by allegedly setting her on fire in the Gandian village, Abbottabad district.
This was stated by Pashmeena Jan, wife of Akram, resident of Mohalla Afzal Abad Central Jail area, while talking to Dawn here on Tuesday.
Nusrat Bibi, Farhat Bibi and Snober Jan were accused by the father of Naseema Jan, the victim, of burning his daughter to death in the Gandian village a few days back. But, according to informed sources the police have not yet made any arrest in this case.

She told that her daughter had graduated as a nurse from Peshawar when Naseema was married to Murtaza, with her own consent some two years back.
As the mother and sisters of Murtaza were not happy with this arrangement she claimed, they started teasing and subjecting her to severe kind of physical torture at the very outset, on one or the other pretext.
During this period she had to suffer miscarriages twice as the result of beating her inhumanly by two unmarried sisters of Murtaza and his mother, she said.
About the day of incident Pashmeena claimed that on May 19, her daughter was with them as she was brought by her father for a bed-rest after suffering second miscarriage when she was beaten savagely by her sister-in-laws and mother-in-law.
At around 2 pm she was taken to her in laws in village Gandian by her husband Murtaza who came to pass holidays at home. But when she reached there she was again beaten by her sister-in-laws and mother-in-law on an unknown pretext and after that she was tied with the charpoy with ropes and her body was doused with kerosene oil and set ablaze by her sister-in-laws namely Nusrat Bibi, Farhat Bibi and their mother Snober Jan.
When a neighbour came for her rescue on hearing screams, she said, Naseema had already sustained severe burn injuries. She also accused them for deliberately delaying her shifting to the hospital. She said that she was brought to CMH Abbottabad after a criminal delay of four hours.
According to Pashmeena the in-laws of her daughter tried to misreport the matter and told the hospital staff that Naseema herself committed suicide.
But as she was an educated girl she divulged before the CMH doctors the details of ordeal she suffered at the hands of her in laws, she said.
Pashmeena Bibi told Dawn that they were informed about the incident on the request of her daughter but when they reached Abbottabad CMH she had already succumbed to 95 pc burn injuries.
When we tried to take possession of the body the hospital staff who asked them to first register an FIR against all the three culprits nominated by the victim at the operation table.
She said that her husband then rushed to Khanpur police station from Abbottabad where he lodged FIR against Snober Jan, mother in law, Nusrat Bibi and Farhat Bibi sister-in-laws of the victim.
But since then no arrest had so far been made by the police as they enjoy rapport with some influentials and police personnel, and instead they were not only roaming freely but also threatening and taunting them repeatedly. Pashmeena Bibi appealed to the president for early arrest of her daughter’s killers.
