NAWABSHAH, June 18: The activists of the Sindh Chandio Welfare Organization continued their token hunger strike opposite the Nawabshah press club demanding that the killers of Ms Peerani Chandio be arrested and an FIR be registered against the town police officers, Daulatpur.

Ms Peerani was killed on the pretext of Karo-kari by her husband, Imam Bux Chandio, and his two friends in a village near Qazi Ahmed.

They said that the TPO, Daulatpur, Manzoor Khaskheli was responsible for Peerani’s death as she had gone to him for help. However, he handed her over to her uncle, Gulzar Chandio, where she was killed.

On being contacted, the TPO said that Peerani came to him asking for help. He informed her uncle, Gulzar Chandio, her mother, Moomal, and other relatives. She was allowed to go with her uncle after giving a statement in writing.
