KARACHI, June 18: The Sindh Minister of Agriculture, Food & Forest, Hasan Ali Chaniho, has said all traders at New Sabzimandi will have to abide by the laws, regulations and rules, and action will be taken against those involved in encroachments or indulging in other violations.

Mr Chaniho said the process of allotment to cultivators would be completed first and then the remaining plots would be allotted to traders of the Market as well as to new comers.

He said the Market Committee, Karachi, would be an autonomous body and that work for framing its rules and regulations was under way.

He warned that strict measures against those trying to encroach on the land of New Sabzimandi. About construction of shops, he said he would meet the governor soon to obtain his permission.

He added that a shopping centre would be constructed in the near future at the market to accommodate traders of disorderly cabins, shops, and those on green belts. Thereafter, they would not be allowed to conduct their business activity elsewhere, he said.

Secretary Agriculture Abdul Rasheed Memon said 45 plots at New Sabzimandi had been allotted to traders, 25pc to new comers and 30pc to cultivators and there would not be any change in their quota. The entire work of allotment was completed in a transparent manner.
