KARACHI, June 18: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Secretary-General Mairaj Mohammad Khan has termed the country’s foreign policy a failure and said the governments have served foreign powers’ agenda in the region, which over the last 22 years has resulted in promoting violence, religious extremism and terrorism.
Speaking at an emergency meeting of the PTI at his residence here, he said the internal issues should be focussed and national consensus should be sought as the foreign powers had their own regional and global agendas.
He condemned the perpetrators of the bomb blast outside the United States consulate.
Sympathising with the affected families, he said that it was a continuation of the bomb blasts that took place in a church in Islamabad, killing a number of diplomats and their family members, and subsequently the blast which killed several French and Pakistani personnel.
He said that in view of growing violence in the country, the government must seek the withdrawal of all foreign troops and bases from Pakistan, so that the trend of targeting foreign embassies and consulates could be arrested.
