KARACHI, June 16: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Coordination Committee has expressed concern over reports of irregularities in the privatization of UBL and its merger in Muslim Commercial Bank, terming it a heinous conspiracy against the economy of the country and thousands of UBL employees.

In its statement, the committee has demanded of President Musharraf to take notice of the irregularities and postpone the privatisation till the next elected government.

It pointed out that already an investigation was on against the Mansha group for taking over MCB despite its low offer and that UBL assets were far more than the price offered.
