VEHARI, June 12: Three people, including two children, were killed and two others were injured late Tuesday night in a road mishap on the Luddan-Burewala Road, some 50 kilometres from here.

Siddique along with Ayub and Zahid of Chak 261-GB was on his way by a car (LOV-9212) when it overturned due to overspeeding while overtaking a donkey cart near Adda Khairwala. The car also hit the two children Abid and Sajid sitting along the road. As a result, Siddique and two children died instantly while two other car occupants sustained injuries.

Police are going into the matter.

Police arrested ‘A’ and her lover Ejaz who had fled two days ago. Later, police handed over the girl to her family members. On Tuesday night, Talib shot dead his sister when she was asleep at her house. Police have arrested the accused and are investigating.

DIES: Sheikh Khalid Mehmood, former councillor, died here on Wednesday after a protracted illness.

He was laid to rest at the Markazi graveyard. Scores of people from all walks of life attended his funeral prayers.

Qul will be held on Thursday (today) at the local mosque of Saddar police station.
