BAHAWALPUR, Oct 30: In a major crackdown, police rounded up some 22 suspects on Tuesday to trace the assailants of church carnage.

The crackdown was launched after a warning by the Punjab governor to the local administration for early arrest of the culprits.

It is learnt that the arrested suspects belong to two sectarian outfits, but police officials are reluctant to give any information in this regard, saying the mystery will be resolved soon.

Two teams have been sent to Alipur and Uch Sharif for apprehending other suspects.

Meanwhile, police have released sketches of three assailants. In the FIR, registered with the cantonment police, five accused have been mentioned.
