DIG dies of cardiac arrest

KOHAT, June 5: Waseem Afzal Khan, DIG Kohat Range, died here of cardiac arrest on Tuesday at his official residence.

His body was taken to his native village near Abbottabad in the evening where he was buried with full police honour on Wednesday.

During his employment, he served as DIG, Peshawar, AIG CID, SSP, Peshawar, SP and SSP, Kohat, and Principal Police Training College, Hangu, before taking his last assignment as DIG Kohat Range two months back.

The president of Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and civil club, Manzoor Ahmed Paracha, Haji Gulzar of mushtarika markets association and members of other communities expressed their sorrow over the demise of Waseem Afzal Khan.

NWFP governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has also condoled with the bereaved family.
