LAHORE, March 26: The Lahore High Court Bar Association will take up the misuse of a new anti-terrorism law in Indian-held Kashmir with the United Nations Human Rights Commission, Amnesty International and other human rights organizations.
According to a statement issued by the LHCBA office-bearers on Tuesday, the Prevention of Terrorism Ordinance has been promulgated to suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle and Indian Muslims.
It particularly condemned the arrest of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik.
Meanwhile, two resolutions criticizing the move to hold a referendum for inducting Gen Pervez Musharraf as president for a regular five-year term would be considered by the LHCBA general body on Thursday morning.
