ISLAMABAD, March 1: Pakistan on Friday regretted the loss of life and property in the communal killings in Indian state of Gujarat and described as “ridiculous” and “irresponsible” the Indian defence minister’s allegation that ISI was behind these disturbances.
Responding to a question about the latest communal frenzy in India, a Foreign Office spokesman stated that while law and order inside India was an internal matter of that country, the government of Pakistan deeply regretted the loss of life and property there.
The spokesman said the Pakistan government also sympathized with all those who had suffered as a result of the violence and offered its condolences to the bereaved families.—APP
