GUJRANWALA, Feb 22: A woman was among the four injured in an exchange of firing between two groups over a minor issue in Kamoki on Friday.
Reports said Allah Ditta and his family were at their home in Khangorey village when accused Anwar, Arshad, Sarfraz and Iftikhar burst in. The rivals resorted to firing following an exchange of hot words. Allah Ditta, his brother Muhammad Zafar, sister Nasreen and Iftikhar received bullet injuries.
They were taken to the Civil Hospital in critical condition.
Police are investigating.
SUICIDE: A youth committed suicide by taking poison over financial stringency in Wazirabad on Friday.
Reports revealed Muhammad Anwar’s parents failed to buy him new clothes for Eid for financial worries. He took poison and died on his way to the Civil Hospital.
Three injured: Dacoits and bandits on Friday injured three people and took away hundreds of thousands of rupees in two strikes in different parts of the district.
Reports said four outlaws, including two police volunteers, burst into Ilyas’ house in Rahwali, locked the inmates in a room and collected cash and gold ornaments worth Rs100,000. The intruders were about to flee when Ilyas and some neighbours overpowered them. They attacked the house owner with knives. Two of them managed to escape while as many were handed over to the police.
The injured was taken to the Civil Hospital in precarious condition. Meanwhile, four bandits intercepted two brothers Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Awais, nephews of Anjuman-i-Tajran Bank Square Vice-President Shaikh Amanullah on Sialkot road. They shot at and injured them on resistance and escaped with Rs80,000 in cash.
They were taken to the Civil Hospital in precarious condition.
