LINCOLN (New Zealand), Feb 8: Zimbabwe ended Nepal’s dream run in the Plate Championship final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup with a comfortable 137-run victory Friday.
Replying to Zimbabwe’s 247 for one, Nepal were bowled out for 110 with fast bowler Waddington Mwayenga and spinner Hamilton Masakadza doing most of the damage.
For Zimbabwe, Brendon Taylor led the way with an unbeaten 100, and he was ably supported by skipper Tatenda Taibu who finished 65 not out. The only wicket to fall was opener Charles Coventry who scored 64.
