ISLAMABAD, Jan 25: Commander US Marine Corps Forces Pacific, Lieutenant-General Earl B. Hailston, discussed geo-strategic situation in South Asia with Pakistan navy and army officials on Friday.

According to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate, Lt-Gen Hailston is on an official visit to Pakistan. He called on the director-general Joint Staff Lt-Gen Syed Pervez Shahid at the Joint Staff Headquarters on Friday.

Later, the US Marine Commander visited the Naval Headquarters and called on the deputy chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Afzal Tahir, the press release added.
