Firecrackers injure two children

SWABI, Dec 20: Two children were injured by firecrackers on Eid day as the sale of the banned material continued unabated across the district.

One Tamraz Khan of Naro Banda went to Shagain Eidgah for Eid prayers. During the prayers, an unidentified person threw the firecracker which resulted in his getting injured and the prayer being disturbed.

Similarly, in Charbagh area, a youngsters was injured when the firecrackers went off in his hands before he could throw it.

Social workers say the most dangerous aspect of the firecrackers is that 96 per cent of them are used by children which puts their lives at risk.

They say it is the responsibility of the government to prevent its sale.

They have appealed to the local administration and the district government to put behind the bars all those shopkeepers selling this banned stuff.
