Naeem restricts ABL

KARACHI, Oct 29: KRL all-rounder Naeem Akhtar captured five for 59 as Allied Bank conceded a first innings lead of 120 on the third day of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I match at Saga Ground, Sialkot Monday.

According to details available here, Allied Bank were able to add only 174 runs to their Sunday’s score of 95 for one.

At one stage, Allied Bank were sitting pretty when young left-handed opener Usman Tariq, who made 80 off 173 deliveries with the aid of 11 fours, and Ata-ur-Rehman were involved in a second wicket partnership of 126.

Ata, the former Test fast bowler, contributed 36 in a stay of 199 minutes while facing 140 balls. His knock included three boundaries.

But the remaining batsmen failed to contribute much against Naeem’s medium-paced deliveries.
