KARACHI, June 4: The FIA Immigration Department has arrested six persons for trying to travel abroad on forged documents.

One of those arrested was to leave for Frankfurt and the remaining to Algiers.

Sources said on Tuesday that during checking of their travel documents it was found that Syed Ibrar Husain Shah and Mohammad Anwar were travelling on Pakistani passports with changed photographs.

During interrogation, they disclosed that they belonged to Gujranwala and Sialkot and the travel documents were arranged for them by their agents on payment of Rs350,000 and Rs65,000.

The other four, identified as Khizar Hayat, Mudassar Nazir, Mohammad Qasim and Ehsanullah, said they were seamen and going to join a ship.

On checking, their CDCs were found forged/fake.

All the six were off-loaded and referred to the FIA, Passport Circle, for further action.—APP
